This work was exhibited in a Japanese sword competition in 2009 and won an award.

It was the first work I made in Yamazoe Village after becoming independent from my master, and I tried various ways to express myself while keeping the teachings of my master.

​

After much trial and error, I came up with a work that reminded me of dancing cherry blossoms, so I decided to add the word "桜 (cherry blossom)" to the name of the work and called it "初桜 (Hatsuzakura)".
